My Manager’s of the Year
award –
Div 1 - This has to be the hardest choice i
have ever had for me there are were only 2 managers in the running - Ivo from
CA and Terry From IQ, Before the cup final there was only one and that was Ivo
no one in the history of SAEFL has been promoted out of div2 and then the very
next season won the SAEFL Title so there was only one choice but then Terry has
to go and make it hard on me by winning the cup and that has also never been
done before promotion from Div2 and the next season win the cup but it was
still swung in Ivo favour the League title is the league title , but then I
looked to see how far Ivo won the league by and what did I see IQ sitting in 4th
spot and after long process I could not decided so I have decided for the first
time to share My Manager of the Year award between these 2 guys what a top
class performance from both managers.
Div 2 – I always like to have two managers to pick from I looked
and looked and thought of GU with the great defensive display conceding 7 goals
all season and suffering only 2 losses, that was good just not good enough It
has to go to Martijn what a season he has had losing
only 1 game all season and racking up a record 63 points out of a possible 66 !!!with a GD of 139 more than double anyone else. I know its before aging and anything can happen but with what CA
& IQ did this season and now seeing DL coming up a lot of Division 1
managers must be praying they can just survive another season in division 1
Div 3 – I have looked at Division 3 and its close, I don’t
look at just the results when I pick my manager of the year I look at what has
happened over the season, Brian and Fu started off with a bang but had a few
hard weeks and it seems Claudio and DT just over took FU and created a nice
safety Gap. Claudio did really well winning the first division 3 title and for
that his name is in the history books but that does not tell the story of the
season, For me I have to Pick Brian and FU as manager of the year – The
started playing well, did a lot of trading which is what makes SAEFL such a
great league (manager interaction) The Brian went one stp
further and because DUTCH sorry I mean cocky and it seems a lot of Div3
managers felt the need to silence Brian hence the 9 Grudge cards so under the
circumstances I think Brian performed better over all in the league so he gets
my Div3 manager of the year award

I feel under Terry control IQ will be top 3 of division 1 in the next 2/3 seasons

Div1 – Well this was a very easy Choice for me. Bart (JG), Nuno (LU), Nathan (AA) all did great jobs so did Mark (TH) to winning the Cup yet again, but the SAEFL manager of the year goes to Colin Jarvis (AS) I think he did an outstanding job this year managing the team he has 4th in the league with a team that should have been fighting religation.
Div2
– This was a tough one, there have been so many managers in division 2
putting up their hands for this award but I’m going to give the SAEFL
Division 2 Manager of the year awad to Robert
Gustavsson (NH), for me he has been outstanding in the cup beating teams likes
like NW,AA,AS over 2 legs not just one offs then while
being in the cup reaching the play offs.

I think I have picked a manager who would be in at least the top 5 of most of those , I have seen his team finish in the play off zone ever year except once and I was wondering if this manager would ever quit due to the disappointment each year of failing to make it to division 1 but no this manager carried on and on rebuild his team a few times changed from tactic to tactic until he found one that was working for his team and although he never won Division 2 he has fought to the end and now has his reward (or is it facing the Division one managers ? ) I give this award to Excelsior Warren – Simon Bracegirdle

Manager of the Year award - There are just so many managers to pick from NW is the first one that comes to mind The great Trading he did at the beginning of the season set NW for the best season ever and made it possible to see the best ever side take the field , Then you have the likes of AA and IQ who both have rebuilt AA finished 2nd in the league after being in the bottom 3 for the first half of the season, IQ won the Cup from the greatest Side ever in SAEFL history (NW) then there was AS who took his team from no where to win Div2 and also TH did the same kinda thing as AS then there is OC who won the last place into div2 but I think there is just one other manager who has stood out well for me that is , and seeing as I have eliminated all the top teams who could it be well its Martjin of DL why well he took a team whose top 11 was rated 21 in the league and whose top 17 was rated 23 and he managed to finish 15 in the (3rd in div2) and that takes a top manager to do something with a team that bad J , look take nothing away from the top managers they all work hard and put a lot of effort into the game but if DL gets my vote

this took me a long time I looked at Nathan Fossey of
AA and OC, almost got OC into div1 won AA the league, 2nd in the cup
but was not all his work , also Bart Lathouwers JG
who had a great season except the end of it winning div2 also MiCHaeL SuWaNDi NW won the cup
and 5th in the league then I looked at Nuno
Santos who with an Ave side took on Div2 and got promoted to div1 there was a
few manager , but I decided to go the same as the managers Vote I gave it to
Nigel Gregory the great work his has done rebuilding his team finishing 2nd
in the league with not the greatest of sides got to the cup simi
final but also for the great part he has played in this league , he taught me
everything I know from the L&AEFL and I know he has helped out a few
managers in this league , Well done Nigel and thanks for the great effort you
put into this league you will be sadly missed.
