SAEFL SEASON 11 WEEK 26

DIVISION 3 PLAY OFFS

Fantastic Eleven and Aros VSK were almost equally good this season. They were the number 4 and 5 on the league table, and FE was just a little better, on 4th position. This match is a good reflection of that. Clive played a strong WP, Christer countered that very clever, with OFF. And as a result of that, both teams were almost as strong, but once again FE was just a little better. And that is what they did when it came to scoring as well. FE was just a little better, and with 9-5, they beat AV, and that result was fair. FE are through to the playoff finals, and who knows, maybe we can see them play in div 2 next season. AV was just not good enough this week, but with an experienced manager like Christer, I bet they will be better next season and they will get to div 2 soon.

SAEFL SEASON 11 WEEK 26

The second game between Deo Volente and Trav Spoodle wasn�t as exciting. TS were a top 3 team for a long time, but started dropping hard when their manager didn�t have the time for TS anymore. They even dropped to the second half of the table, but thanks to a good effort of Natalino, they stole their playoffspot back from VA. DS however, were already sure of the playoffs somewhat longer, and Otto has been able to prepare his team for it. And it showed. DV really smashed TS! Well, apparantly the TS manager forgot to send in orders, (hence the NON UB tactics), and then it was easier for DV. DV really did the best they could, and that showed. Otto and DV through to the final, and in this case of course that is very much deserved. TS will very likely fight for at least the playoffs again next season, and who knows what DV will be fighting for next season? We will know more later this week��

DIVISION 3 PLAY OFF FINAL

The division 3 playoffs final was between Deo Volente and Fantastic Eleven. Otto has been telling us all season that he would not go for the div 3 title or promotion, as next season would be his. On the other hand, FE has been in the top 3 for almost the entire season, and although that was just 1 position short of direct promotion, FE was considered the favourite in the playoffs. However, this matches showed us different. Clive played his usual strong WP, but the markers that Otto played, the OFF antitactics and the red card for DS Cloete caused that FE missed a lot of the EMP that they are used to get. In spite of the OFF tactics, DV still managed to get quite some bonus- EMP, and that made that DV was better than FE. They had more than 8 EMP more, and of course with that also more chances. Since they also had a better GK (it was only 0.25, but even that can make a difference), the 8-4 victory for DV was absolutely deserved. By losing this match, FE automatically becomes the nr. 1 favorite for next season�s div 3 title, and I am sure that Clive will do better than this season. Otto knows what he has to do if he still wants to win the div 3 title: he has to relegate next season. But of course, I don�t think what will be in Otto�s plans. Anyway: well done, and I hope to welcome DV in div 1 soon, so we can make that league Orange!
