Pres (AP): AR seems to have switched gears here. Since you have been manager,
AR has been collecting young players. Now you seem to be collecting old
players.
Manager
Fulmer (MF): I wouldn't say we are collecting old players, but AR are definitely in a different phase of team building. We
finally have a competitive team, one we feel has a
chance to promote. So we are bringing some players to help make that happen,
while continuing to build for the future.
AP: So, in
your great wisdom, what did you do?
MF: The
first one was a move we have been talking about for almost a season, bringing
in AM Swannson from AK. At 26, I wouldn't call him
old, but he is definitely middle aged and older than
the players we have been acquiring. We gave up 2 solid defenders including the
promising OFire, but I feel it is worth it. This nsl 12 AM gives AR 5 strong AMs
and gives us a fantastic rotation. Swannson was
obviously picked up to help in promotion this season, but we hope he can give
us some depth next season as we try to stay in Division 1.
AP: Getting
a bit cocky there about winning promotion, you have only played one match.
MF: I've
been talking to Bart too much.
AP: That's
not a good thing. Definitely not a good thing.
MF: Enough
about Bart. He is Nathan and Jeroen's problem in Div
1, and anyone else making a run at the title. They can deal with his 2 freak CFs and his freak...... like I said,
he is Nathan and Jeroen's problem.
AP: You
also picked up 2 players in cash deals.
MF: Yes,
these moves were both short term, maybe for just the first half of the season
as some of our younger players continue to develop. We brought in 29 yo J Gentele from TB. He has been
through the wars with a top Division 1 side and should help make up for the
defenders we traded. We also purchased Striker E. West from NH. S is not a high
priority in our system, but we felt we needed to strengthen it in our fight for
promotion. We did not want to give up a young player for him, but he should be
well worth the cash we paid. West's team ethics and determination really
impressed us when he played against us, so we felt he would fit in well at AR.
AP:
Speaking of ARs fight for promotion, who do you think
are the main contenders?
MF: Let's
have a couple of beers and talk about that next week.
AP: You've
definitely been talking with Bart too much....

After a
decent match over the weekend in your first round cup game how are you and
DT :
Pretty good right now, although the cup is not exactly
what we after, we interested in the league - and after losing our first game in
the league we have to train even harder now and pull one back and hopfully we can have a good season
Press :
How do you feel u will match up to the other Div2 teams?
DT :
Well, looking at all the teams its def a different ball game :) I think wih the team we have now, it will be extremely hard to do
well in this season - hopefully we have some good ageing and perhaps some good
trades in the near future which could possibly help us get a spot in the play
offs - if not the top 2 spots :)
Press :
How doe syour budget feel afte
spending most of your winings on the Young Brazilian
Keeper A. Rikku ? :p
DT : :) haha, well - it was de fworth it…
as ya noticed our star keeper and GK of the season in
Div3 has had a very bad ageing so far - dropping from 10 to 8 now… at least
Zack hasn’t followed in those foot steps and has a decent aging increasing both
ageing spots - so Hopefully we can rain Rikku to a 10
NSL keeper in the near future...
Press :
:) Well, good luck in the near future and lets hope Rikku lives up to what ya expect
of him
DT : :)
Thanks!

Hello, I
know that I won the Cup game because PN did not want to go for the cup. She is
going for the Division, well I am going to give her a
tough game today.
Last season
I was worried about SP through out the season, but I have changed my thinking,
because this season my players will be used for the World Cup too. I am going
to see what the limits to SP are.
Lets have
a fun game today...
P.S. It is
like playing a different team because I don't think the same players that where
playing last time are going to play today.
It`s a nice start of season fur us, we still have to make more
tests to find out what
we can really do this season. But in a first a quick look it
seams possible to make the playoffs.
We`ll have a very hard game this week, we`ll
defend the best we can and look for the couter attack.
Well last week we lost in the cup, which is not really
that big of a surprise since we did not play our first string. We actually played FU in the cup and are
playing them again this week in the league.
It is good that we did not play our first string because them beating us
last week by a massive amount does not mean that we will lose again to them
this week.
This week we will be playing our first string so
things will be different.
We got a nice win in Week 1 and hopefully we can start
off the season with
6 points in our first two games. We should be
pretty evenly matched with FU. They also
won their first game but had a bigger goal differential than we did so they are
higher in the standings than us. With a
win, we will probably move up some in the standings but it is still very early
in the season so whatever happens now will probably not matter that much. A win would still be nice though, so
hopefully we will get the three points.
DIVISION 3
This week
sees the Kickers matched up against the Speedsters. The speedsters last season finished near the
bottom but so far this year they have won their first league game 16-9 but
caused a big upset in the cup, beating The Boelewieten
9-8.
"This
is going to be tough," said David Thomas.
"Last season was not good for them, but they have traded well in
the offseason and the results show that. They have a similar side to ours and play a
similar style so it should be a good game.
It will come down to keeping though and that is where they have a big
advantage. We just have to keep Eddie
Irvine busy and down his end to protect Paul Statto."
The buses
will be a leaving at 10:30 so it would be advisable to get to Kicker Field by
9:30 so that they leave on time.
Keep on
Kicking.
African Selection
A very interesting opening Cup match. For those who have been following the Selects'
Cup fortunes over the last few years, you will know that this is the first Cup
victory in quite a long while. This will bring a smile to the faces of the
Selects' diehard supporters (all 12 of them). Especially after an unlucky draw
in the season opening match.
Hopefully
this next game against a BS team will see the Selects' continue in their
undefeated fashion.

SH came out of the gate on fire in their opening SAEFL
match and Aros
VSK wasn't able to put out the fire. SH Manager Lear stated,"We
at SH this season, mean business. I like to think that we have a very strong
side and SH aims to take full advantage of what we
have. To add to our lineup, SH has just completed one major deal and is very
close to completing a 2nd major deal. We
aren't stopping until we have accomplished our only goal this season.....to win
the D-3 championship!
SH has much
respect for their opponent in this week's match. Manager Lear says," SH is
playing TS this week. In their opening match, they battled AS to 3 - 3 draw.
Anytime you can do that against Colin and company, I have respect for that team
because AS is an excellent side.
However, when SH takes to the pitch against TS, we are
going full tilt against them.
We want the three points and we expect to take them.
