Only 3 points separate Deo Volente and Defrosted Tunafish. In DV's favour, by the way. On one hand, this looks like a midtable match, but on the other hand, DV needs to win this match to stay close behind the leader(s) of the table, while DT needs a victory to create some extra space between his team and the relegation zone, as that is only 1 point away.
Both Otto and Claudio played a nice lineup. I think that Otto's team was just a little better, but the home advantage plus the red card for DT made that suddenly DV turned out to be a lot better, leading to a 21-13 victory for DV. With that, Otto stays in the race for the Championship, while Claudio -although I don't think he needs to be afraid of relegation- will need more luck if he wants to be in the playoffs at the end of the season.
This is a match between two midtable teams that undoubtedly aim higher. Otto has slowly been building a good team with young players and he's getting there. He fielded a decent nsl team and achieved also a pretty decent emp. In the end it was enough to beat DT. DT was a bit unlucky with the sendoff but i guess the victory was deserved anyway.

SAEFL Season 13 WEEK 7
OC has played fout matches and until this week they had won points whatsoever. WE see that change this week. OC fielded a reasonable team and it was enough to beat the pretty highspirited TJ squad. Again i think the two red cards did not influence the reslt in the end but the TJ manager might not agree.
In the match between Oaklake City and The Jazz, I think that Keith and Stewart played equally strong teams. However, the NSL that both managers played wasn't decisive here. The red cards for TJ in fact DID make a difference, and that resulted in an easy win for OC. Keith will be happy with the first win of the season, and although it doesn't lead OC out of the danger zone yet, it does bring the good side of the line a lot closer. TJ were already in the bottom half, and will stay there after this loss.

SAEFL Season 13 WEEK 7
This is a nice match! After their championship in Div3 SH keep winning in Div2 and they are the proud leaders after 4 weeks. EW are midtable but they proved time after time they have a skillfull manager in Simon. And that manager has an old rivalry going on wilt Len so he was sure to give it his best shot. And his best shot was good enough. EW played a clever OFF tactic against the powerhouse WP SH fields every week. But that wasn't enough. This time the red card DID make a difference. And even then SH held the best cards with their nsl 10 GK. But it was not Len's day and he suffered his first defeat. I'm sure Simon will be extremely happy. And he won't rub it in Len's face...too much :)
In Excelsior Warrens home game against Stannington Historical, we see 2 of the most experienced managers in SAEFL fighting each other.
SH is leading the table, while EW is even in the bottom half, only 1 point behind a playoff position.
In order to secure another win, Len played another very strong WP, once again, with 102.50 NSL.
However, an early red card for H. Ellraiser spoilt his good intentions.
In fact, it made that EW was just a little (1.5 NSL) better than SH.
However, 1.5 NSL is not that much, and given the fact that EW played with a NSL 9 goalie, against a NSL 10 goalie for SH, you'd expect SH to win the game anyway.
But the red card was not the end of SH's bad luck. The jinx remained at least until the end of the match, and that resulted in a victory for EW.
Simon will be happy to climb towards a top half position, while Len will lose the lead if NH or AP win their match this week.

SAEFL Season 13 WEEK 7
FU and FE are both just below the top three and they both need an win to climb to a real top position. Strangely enough this match did welcome any red cards. Maybe the ref was sleeping. Anyways..FU was just too strong for FE and the 20-8 result was fair. Good win.
Fanatics United against Fantastic Eleven is the first top half clash this week, as we see the numbers 4 and 6 in action.
In this match against each other, it was Denis who made that FU had more NSL on the pitch than Clive's FE.
That, plus the home advantage, plus the fact that FE suffered from 2 injuries, made that FU was the better team.
When it also turned out that FU's goalie was in much better form than his opponent, the 20-8 victory for FU was a fair result.
With the 3 points, FU stay in the top of the table, while FE fall down to the bottom half

SAEFL Season 13 WEEK 7
Another great match! NH and AP are second and third and with SH loosing this match becomes vey very important. NH chose wisely and played OFF against AP strong WP. Just look at those CF's! But it wasn't enough. NH just fielded too little nsl to really bother AP. When you play two nsl 7 sttackers against a strong team as AP you can't expect to won. And they did'n't. AP gets three points and they are the new leaguetable leaders. Well done!
Here's the match that Len has been waiting for: Newton Heath against Apocalypse, so the top match in div 2, as we have the numbers 2 and 3 playing against each other.
A draw would mean that SH would stay in the nr. 1 position.
But of course, that is not what Robert and Les wanted.
Or should I say, that's not what Les wanted?
One look at the figures learns that AP really wanted to go for it, playing a 99 NSL WP team.
Robert however, defended, played OFF, and put no more than 84.50 NSL on the pitch.
Apparantly, Robert thought that you don't always need to win the top matches, to win the title. As long as you win all the other matches?
Might very well be so.
Anyway, at least in this particular match, the victory was for AP, and that was a fair result. With the 3 points, they take over the lead from SH.

SAEFL Season 13 WEEK 7
Before we saw the two teams that were sencond and third from the top. Now we see the teams that are second and third from the bottom. Both teams need points to move a little from the relegation zone. And both teams played teams with nsl around 90. But this game was decided by GU's tactical choice. SM doesn't really do much except keeping the score down. And that it did. But SG won the match and they will be happy with the three points. GU are in trouble.
Grammar United against Smoking Guns is not just any bottom half match, no, it's a match between 2 teams who are already in the relegation zone.
Which means that this match against each other, may already be very important, this early in the season.
It was Monty whose SG were the better team on the pitch. Not just in NSL, but also in EMP, and with both teams playing with a NSL 10 GK, the result in the end was a victory for SG: 3-6.
With these very important 3 points, SG climb out of the relegation zone, while GU remain in trouble.
